Privacy notice
Genius 11+ Maths is run by Building Genius, who is the data controller. We keep data to the minimum needed to run the service. This service is designed for children but is operated for and by parents: accounts belong to an adult.
What we collect
- Parent account: email address and an encrypted password.
- Child profiles: a nickname you choose and a year group. Please do not use a full name. We collect nothing else about children: no photos, school, date of birth or location.
- Practice records: which questions were answered, whether correct, and how long they took, so we can show progress.
- Subscription: whether you have a plan, and Stripe customer and subscription references. Card details go to Stripe and never reach us.
What we do not do
No advertising, no advertising or analytics trackers, no selling or sharing of data for marketing, and no profiling of children beyond showing you their own accuracy and speed. Practice without an account stores nothing about you on our servers.
Why we use it (lawful basis)
To provide the service you asked for (contract), and to meet legal and accounting duties for payments. Progress records are used only to show you the report.
Who processes it
- Supabase: database and login, hosted in London (UK).
- Vercel: website hosting.
- Stripe: payments.
These providers may process data outside the UK under standard international transfer safeguards.
How long we keep it
While your account is open. Practice records older than the retention period of the service may be removed. If you ask us to delete your account we remove your profile, children and all practice records within 30 days; payment records are kept for the period required by tax law.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, object to processing, or complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Email buildinggeniuss@gmail.com and we will respond within one month. You can also delete a child profile and its progress yourself from the dashboard.
Cookies and storage
We use your browser's local storage only to keep you logged in and to remember your theme and selected child. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
